KulturKontakt Austria (KKA) is a European competence and resource centre for education, culture and the arts, focusing geographically on Austria and Eastern and South Eastern Europe. The non-profit organisation develops and implements its programmes on behalf of and supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture. KKA is committed to the fundamental principles of educational and cultural policy formulated at European level, namely dealing inclusively with diversity and difference, and lifelong learning. Based on these principles, KKA devises its activities and programmes with the objective of facilitating equal access to education, culture and the arts. Over 50 staff members implement KKA’s multifaceted programmes, focussing on the following priorities:
- KKA promotes exchange and cooperation between educational institutions in Eastern and South Eastern Europe and Austria to sustainably support education reforms.
- KKA supports cooperation between schools, artists and cultural institutions in Austria.
- KKA provides international artists with scholarships for sojourns in Austria, including the use of guest studios, within the framework of Artists in Residence programmes.
